I was awarded a Bachelor of Science degree with 2.1 honours in Marine Biology and Zoology
by the University of Wales and took up a research post at Lancaster University where I
designed a new way of measuring blood salt concentrations. I then trained as a teacher and
spent 14 years in schools before entering Clinical Hypnotherapy.
I was trained by the London College of Clinical Hypnosis, an international college whose
courses are accredited by the Royal College of Nursing and the Open university and which
also trains doctors and dentists in the use of hypnotherapy. My diploma, gained through
practical and theory examinations ratified by the University of Greenwich was awarded in
2005.
I am an associate member of the British Society of Clinical Hypnosis, a regulatory body that
ensures that professional standards are maintained and encourages research into the wider
application of hypnotherapy. During my training I became a volunteer therapist with the
National Phobics Society.
